Underwater Pumpkin Carving and Treasure Hunt
Toucan Dive, is sponsoring the above event on Sunday, October 13th, At Pearl Lake, in South Beloit, Illinois, At Noon.
Preregistration is required and there is a $10.00 entry fee for the contest for both divers and non-divers. Call 847-356-7826 to register. The ten bucks gets you the Pumpkin and they supply the food. It does not include equipment or your entry fee to the lake.
Bring your dive knife, because the pumpkins need to be carved with the dive knife. Be creative, because some divers take this very seriously and can get very elaborate. I understand that there are great Prizes for this event, including a pair of Split Fins, A Shore Lock and other prizes, which are donated by Toucan Dive and some big manufacturers.
For the Treasure Hunt you and your buddy will have to find numbered plastic pumpkins and match the prize with the numbered pumpkin. The Number of Prizes will be determined by the number of entrants.
This is usually a really fun day at the lake. Don't forget to bring a buddy. Music, Food, Prizes and divers, what more can you ask for. And if you need it, it gives you an excuse to get in the water.
