Commando!!

Not a good plan. The evaporative cooling and modesty or local laws might cause shrinkage. Could be disasterous for evening plans...

I rarely wear a wetsuit, but if I do, I go commando -- everything else is annoying, and sensitive souls have eyelids, don't they?

Speedo Jammers, or similar suits by TYR or others, work really well. Good coverage but form fitting with no extra fabric to bunch up. They're sort of like a male equivalent of a female one-piece.

I second the bicycle shorts. The ones I have go down mid-thigh and up to about waise level so I don't feel so.........revealed!!

Putting on a long tee shirt when I pull off or down the wet suit also helps cover the various rolls....!!!!

A bathing suit that is like bike shorts, but it does not have the extra bike short padding. I bought it at Sports Authority and I think it's made by Nike.

If you go with the speedos or other form fitting shorts, you could always wear some regular shorts over them, and only "reveal" yourself during the wetsuit donning and doffing.
