I was on an education dive (deepdive), and at the end of the dive I discover that I have a little lead, and will find it difficult to keep me down. What is best to do in such a situation, in addition to empty one's BCD / suit perfectly for air? And what is the best one's buddy can do? Collect stones, make an controlled ascent?

Grab a rock. I've done it a few times when the divemaster insisted I didn't need the lead I wanted. They won't complain about you touching things when you are looking for a rock to compensate for their stupidity.

I took a lot of stones to try to keep myself down, but my instructor pushed it out of my hands. He was aware that I was to light and had difficulty holding myself down. After that he continued swimming and the depth got lower and lower and it became more and more difficult for me not to have an uncontrolled ascent.

Perhaps a new instructor if this one doesn't meed your needs better:dontknow:. Rocks. Often instructors and DM's carry extra led for situations like this. Also exhale fully. Sometimes when you get stressed you start breathing and holding more air in your lungs which compounds the problem.

The deeper you go... The less weight you need, Rocks are fine to add a little extra.. and If you're in a wetsuit , Open the zipper and make sure it's flooded.. Air trapped inside a loose fitting suit will really screw with you... Remember that as the dive goes on, You need "MORE" lead to make up for the air you use.. So if you're just starting the dive, GET MORE LEAD... Hanging a bag with lead weights in it from the boat is just the ticket to deal with this problem..

Well obviously at some point you ascended.

What happened with your ascent? Were you able to do a safety stop? Or did you just blow right by it straight to the surface?

Grabbing rocks works, however it is a better policy to know what you need for weight in the rig you are diving, especially if you are diving deep. Having a few pounds over is better than under as your ascent rate could be the difference between DCS and not, or a safety stop may turn into a deco stop.

I believe that doing more dives well within NDL until a diver has a good control of his weighting and buoyancy before diving deep, where a mistake can cause a lot more issues, is a prudent plan.

That is openly, but we have never done a proper weight check so I did not know I thought it was ok but I was not sure. But I have signed up for another course where we will do this. I can not do this check myself.

Doing a weight check is something that is taught in every open water course. How are you not able to do this yourself?

And again, what happened on your ascent?

What course were you doing this deep dive on, and what course are you thinking of taking?
