Brownie's Third lung is a pretty good peice of equipment,
To bob's post above... the hoses can get different versions
of fungi And Viruses due to getting small amounts of water inside of it,
Its sometimes caused by drips of water traveling in when a diver changes the regualtor or removes it at all.

I have done lots of work breathing through clear hose.

It is important to protect clear hose from sunlight when not in use.

The clear does make an inspection of the hose pretty easy though.
