Hi all,
In just a couple of weeks, on Friday October 20th, our club, The United Divers of Central Mass will be holding it's annual banquet. This event is open to all divers and interested parties. The cost is $35.00 per head and includes dinner. We'll be holding it once again at the Devens Common Center. This year our guest speaker will be Gary Gentile. Gary is a noted wreck diver, author, and historian. Gary's topics for the evening will be on the Andrea Doria, as well as the shipwrecks of Bermuda. You can read more on Gary at his web site http://www.ggentile.com/.
Our past years banquets have been hugely successful. We offer pre-dinner hors d'oeuvre, a full dinner, as well as gear raffles and door prizes. Last year we featured John Chatterton, author of Shadow Divers, and had well over 100 attend.
Gary's new book,"Shadow Divers Exposed - The Real Saga of the U-869", claims to "correct some of the gross errors, wild exaggerations, and deliberate distortions that filled the pages of Shadow Divers". While not a part of his lectures for the evening, this topic ought to make for some very interesting Q&A.
For more information and to purchase you tickets see our web site www.uniteddivers.org .
Might be fun to get a couple tables full of NELDs - No?
