U-853 Dive report

Joined Capt Gordon on the Canned Air. First time on that boat. Real roomy and quick. 35 minutes from Point Judith.
Seas were calm. Didn't notice any current. Bad at judging distance under water but viz was 10'? First time on the wreck. Didn't penetrate. Temp was 51*F.

Second dive was Heroine. Light current on top and below. Drift diving on one side of the wreck. 75' and 8-10' viz with 51*F. Lots of flukes and sculpins on the sea floor. Plenty of other fish hanging around.

Hey Armando

Glad to see you got on the U-853. We were nearbye on the pinnacles and the Lightburn. Ocean was as flat as a lake and vis was 30+ feet just off the coast of BI.

Are you game for another weekday shore dive sometime. After Labor day we'll have the coast to ourselves and Im thinking something close like Stonington or Weekapaug or the Tugboat Hercules. The last 2 near each other and good dives.

Also game for another Jamestown trip.

Anyway Im glad to see you had a good Uboat dive.

Flat as a lake is right. What a day to dive, huh? 30ft viz? wow...
Hell yeah, I'm game for weekday dives. After Labor Day will be much easier for me too.
I haven't gone to Weekapaug or the Hercules. Sign me up. Don't forget, I do like night dives too. Jamestown is never out of the question with me.
This Friday will probably be the only weekday available for me to do some daytime diving until Labor Day since I'll be babysitting(unless I go to the Quarry). I'm going to see if I can go diving somewhere that morning. Just let me know if you got something.
