...I see it' s coming up 10/18. Has anyone ever done the cleanup at the Isthmus? Is there a registration site like the Avalon event?

I worked the Catalina Chamber info & t-shirt sales table last year at the Two Harbors Clean-up; registration is right by the small dive shop at the land end of the pier. Smaller diver turn-out than the Avalon clean-up, but just as fun & wacky!

Why is it we divers always get stuck cleaning up all the junk that falls off some yachter's boats? Why can't they do it themselves? Or at least drop a lot more valuable stuff that we can gather up. Just teasing.

Teasing? :shocked2:

I think that's a reasonable request! :D

I found a neat pair of Mossimo sunglasses some kayaker must have dropped at La Jolla Shores. Of course, I lost them within a week.

...I know for a fact there's at least a loaded wallet and some nice Ray Bans at Isthmus Cove!! Thanks for the info, sounds like no advance registration is necessary then? Cheers-M

Mike, no pre-registration, but here's a phone number. Becky is no longer in events, so you want to talk to Leslie. Remember, it's island time so give her a couple of days to return your call :-)

I think they purposely plan it after Buccaneer Days:rofl3:

Two Harbors Underwater Clean-up - Catalina Island

Oh, and we are heading over for six days next week, if I find your wallet and Ray Bans diving and playing around, I'll let ya know;) What mooring did you "lose" them...I'll investigate...teehee

Ha! Actually, I didn't lose them, it was my dock neighbor at the marina....and he wouldn't tell me where his mooring was either!!

It doesn't sound like you have to pay for this one, unlike the Avalon cleanup. Now to twist my buddies arm that owns a boat...
