Been in contact with one of the people involved — not quite as dramatic as the article makes it sound. Basically, strong currents swept them fairly quickly off a dive site. The instructor took his client to shore after their boat couldn’t find them when they surfaced.
Their boat quickly raised the alarm, and speed boats were dispatched from the hotel along with other vessels to search. The instructor and client could see the boats looking for them, but it took a little while before they were spotted.
Sounds like a perfectly executed search and rescue — and most importantly, everyone’s okay
