Not really connected but I really, really wish I could find a decent wing with a top right shoulder dump. I hate fighting through stages and going ass up to dump... air.
when you think about it, it is odd that the dump is on the LHS given that the RHS is clear in DIR format.

OK, of course the DIR RHS is reserved for emergencies (and scootering — ooh, I’ve got a Tesla), but if you’ve a standalone torch on a soft handle/bungee on your left hand (that is hard to swap hands due to bungees), you simultaneously blind the person behind you, plunge yourself in darkness and do a massive sweeping sight manoeuvre that may startle your team member in front.

Right? That's the one part of the DIR configuration where I wonder if it was intentional, or just based on wings available at the time.

My wing can have the dump on the left or right side, but that isn't common now, and might not have been an option at all in the early DIR days.
