I've been told that the Tusa RS-460 reg is made by Scubapro and is identical except for markings to the Scubapro Mk16/R390. Anyone know if this is actually true? Thanks. -Brian, Joplin MO.

Well...sort of. Tabata manufactures Scubapro's designs for them and has done so for the last couple decades.

It's a good deal for Scubapro as they do not need to invest in first rate production facilities and it's a good deal for Tabata as they then marketed licensed copies of the regs through TUSA (Tabata USA) once Scubapro's exclusive rights expire.

Scubapro and Tabata are is not the only companies that have such an arrangement as it is common in an industry where the sales volume from one company is not enough to justify a dedicated production facility.

In any event, except for minor trim details the RS-460 and Mk 16 are identical.
