I wouldn't be the least bit worried. Nova Scotia had a category 3 hurricane (Juan) that hit Halifax in 2003, just before we moved to the area. Then in 2010, hurricane Earl (cat. 1) hit our area directly & blew the doors off our boat house. So after those TWO, Nova Scotians took to worrying about hurricanes. I will not even take the time to google when the last one hit here prior to '03. I'm not the least bit concerned and we live right on the Atlantic. Sandy hit NYC--first one I've heard of hitting there my whole life (grew up there to age 23). Anywhere on the Pacific "Ring of Fire" as they call it (?) you can get a tsunami. So don't worry about one place.
