I finally got enough time to scan the pics.

Disclaimer - this was my first outing with a wide-angle lens. Lessons learned: 1) What ya see aint always what ya get 2) You don't have to adjust the focal distance, but you DO have to adjust the viewfinder distance 3) A wide-angle lens requires more strobe 4) Nurse Sharks are EXTREMELY fast 5) Mantas change direction when you nail em with your strobe.

I got double prints so if you want a hard copy of yourself PM me your snailmail addy. (Sorry if I got any names wrong)

Thanks for sharing them with us.

Texass,

Very cool shots. The Manta pics are great. Sure does remind me of them coming through the water like they were glad we were there.

Hope you don't mind a small critique. You might open your aperature a stop, unless the pics are darker because of the scanning. And remember that no matter how powerful a strobe is, it's not going to be useful past 3-4 ft. Some of those shots, like the Moray Eel and the Lobster, for instance, you could have gotten alot closer. Close-up wide angle distance is 18" from your subject....this is my favorite type shots!

Thanks for sharing.

It's making me REALLY look forward to my rescheduled trip next month!

I really like that "Hang Line" photo toward the end of the photo list.

And that reminds me to get my photos over to the photo lab for processing....

Will scan and post real soon.
