Well apparently opt-out seems to be working. They closed most of the porn-scanners today and just using standard metal detectors.

I don't like or agree with the scans or enhanced pat downs but I can't see myself canceling a vacation over it. I would opt out of the scans. You know those pictures are somehow going to get on the internet someday. I have an issue with that even if you can't tell who it is. I know "they" say the pictures can't be stored or transmitted but "they" say a lot of things. That said, I have never been subjected to either and wonder what the selection process is. Luck of the draw or profiling?

Maybe everyone should just be issued a weapon when boarding the plane. That way we would all be on an even footing. Everyone would have the means to defend themselves and others from a terrorist threat. If there was a terrorist attack on the plane there would certainly be casualties but with a plane full of armed citizens all defending themselves against 2 or 3 terrorists...I like the odds. I know, pretty radical and not realistic but I would feel much more secure if I was armed. I KNOW that I can defend myself given the proper tools.

Is there a problem with bomb sniffing dogs? I thought they were pretty effective.

Wear a Speedo style swim suit and maybe a tank top under regular clothes. When required to do a pat down since already have shoes off just drop shirt and pants into tray with shoes so only have swim suit, tank top, and socks. No place to hide anything.

Hope they do not desire to do a fondle anyway.

Maybe the change hasn't occurred yet, but Orlando has opted out of the TSA in favor of another private screening company:

... but they still, by law, have to follow the same procedures as the TSA.

The only thing that replacing the TSA with private security might accomplish is getting better-trained people at the security gates ... then again, it might not ...
