Trying to understand PADI's Enriched Air - Nitrox certification costs

No - you can't borrow or "download" a copy - you must have your own set of current materials in order to be certified.

This sentence maybe correct only for few agencies.
Others doesn't require own material.
1.5 -2 months ago in this forum was advertising for Nitrox free of charge course. I believe you will need to pay something for card and maybe for material (even downloaded).
I did my course during a day for about 100$ include all with one other student in class.
Nitrox course understanding and the need to repeat the material is very depends how good you was in last two years in high school on physics lessons.
Agency may allow you to download material and make even exam via Internet (personally I don't think it is good idea), you only pay for card about 40$
Good or bad thing that you allow to take Nitrox regardless from which agency you have a card.

Monday I am taking the class I ended up signing up for.

Hi All, thanks for the replies.

I called a very good LDS close to home and they charge $80 for course and $35 include all materials and c-card. I will be signing up for the next classes.

Did not realize it was SSI when I signed up. Maybe I should have suspected when the price was lower than what I was seeing for PADI class.

I am almost done reading the materials. Everything seems very straight forward.

As I learn more about Nitrox I realize I will probably only use it on liveaboards.
