ScubaGir1:
Hey guys, I'm trying to plan a trip for this coming June to either, Jamaica, Cozmuel, or Costa Rica. Out of those which place would be the best for diving and overall safety? I wanna have a great vacation and experience some nice waters.....any advise? Thanks everyone!! :07:

Done em all.....Go to Cozumel!!

Regards,

........fairly advanced diving. Jamaica is a gun & knife shop with lots of bad guys. Diving is average at best.

Go for Cozumel, you will have a great time. Lots of wildlife and coral structures. Warm water and even some good beaches on the south end of the island.

Dave

Hey, I was just wondering how you got that counter.

I have a couple of questions. Since we're gonna go in late June, I hear that that's the peak of the rainy season? Has anyone here been to cozumel during that time? Can you please share your experience with the weather?

Thanks,
DB

Go to your private message area and look at the very bottom link on the left hand side and follow the directions. It is easy to set up.

I did set it up, and I don't think it is working. is there anything I have to do to put the counter actually into my signature?

July 2003 I went to Cozumel and proposed to my wife there. The weather was great, snorkelling the reef was great (wasn't certified then) and the side trips we took were great. If you don't want to go too far and want out of the hotel, take a taxi to the town for shopping, to the Mayan ruins on the island or to the lighthouse on the southern end of the island (there is a newer one north of that). Around the southern one is a conservation that sea turtles visit annually. You can go out at night with the workers to witness. Not sure when this occurs, it was the wrong time when we were there. There's not a lot to see there toher than that but it's cheap, close and get's you out. The lighthouse isn't anything different than you can see at home but I proposed on top, so it's more than an old lighthouse to me. Side trips can take you to Mayan ruins (Tulum, Chichen Itza) but they will take most or all day. Everything I listed above you can do as a partial day.

Make sure you fill in all the spaces... any blanks mean no counter... :eyebrow:

Bonaire is also great diving but being your on the west side have you thought about the South Pacific? I've been to Cozumel, Roatan and Bonaire and Fiji. After diving Fiji I have no desire to ever return to the Carribean

The problem with Fiji is your pockets have to be a little deeper. Cozumel is cheap and good diving. Bonnaire is a little more expensive but still a cheap vacation (I'm headed there in July). I would have loved to go to Fiji this year, but the cost was a little higher than this year's vacation budget.
