Doc Ed,
Can you do some tests on how long they run at full power and the kind of battery you were using?
I ordered mine on May 6th. The seller shipped them via Hong Kong Post on the 9th. Tracking indicates they processed through HK on the 10th and San Francisco on the 11th (USPS). I'm not sure if I'll get any more tracking from here or not as I only have an HKP tracking number.
With any luck I'll have them sometime next week. From what I've read customs shouldn't be a problem for a small electronics order for personal use but we shall see how it goes.

From what I've read, be prepared if they don't fit. I'm no expert in 18650 but there seems to be variances in the standard in terms of width, length and terminal contact shapes / types as well as the concept of a circuit protector. You may encounter integration problems when trying to use the battery with the light. I hope not so let me know how it goes.
I'm hoping that buying it as a kit I avoid those problems but it does pose an additional problem of having only 1 battery to use with it. I'll want to find another one to switch between.

Thanks for the heads up. I made the mistake of ordering mine seperately. I got the light this morning out of Hong Kong, but am now waiting on the batteries and charger out of mainland China. Light looks great and I'll post on the batteries when they arrive. FWIW I did order the UltraFire brand batteries as seen in the pictures with said light, so hopefully they will fit. One battery in 30 different sizes! However, the UltraFire battery is bringing up the rear in all those tests, (big time) so I may order the LG 18650 D1 given the performance shown in those tests. Downside, $20 bucks for two, and you gotta get em' from Korea it appears.
