I was thinking about initially starting with a BP and Wings, but I just shelled out alot of cash for my Dry Suit. So.., I thought get an adequate BCD for now which is less expensive than the BP/Wing startup cost and later on when my bank account has healed (and I'm ready for doubles) switch to a BP/Wing. Problem is that I'm having a really hard time finding an adequate BCD that fits me. I know that SeaQuest Pro + QD ($$) in medium-large will fit, but I haven't found anything else. I've been doing alot of shopping on line and when I look at the sizing charts, my measurements aren't there. So, I'm posting my quandary here and I'm out to pick some brains (and they better be ripe, I only pick the best brains).

Selection Criteria:
1) BCD to be used with dry suit or a 3mm wetsuit
2) Fit a 35 inch waist
3) Fit 43 inch chest
4) I'm 190 pounds
5) I'm 5 foot 10.5 inches

Thanks for any help

Tom

I wonder who is going to be the first person who says "Just go with a BP/Wings"?

Hi
I think you might get some comments about your reasoning for the BC purchase, but not from me. Your body dimensions are just about the same as mine. I use a Seaquest Black Diamond (size ML) for warm and cold weather diving, from 3mm shortie to drysuit. Fits me great, and is very adjustable.

I have also used a Seaquest balance (size L), and I really liked the fit. The Balance has slightly different sizing than Black Diamond. But the Balance would need a weight belt for drysuit diving, since the weight pouches are probably not broadly adequate for the ballast needed.

I don't see what your fitting problem is? Forget the sizing charts. The only way to tell if a BC will fit is to try it on.
There are several BC's that are very highly adjustable: e.g. the DUI Delta and some of the Zeagle's.

I dive a Balance with my drysuit and find that I don't need a weight belt. I use 8 kilos split among the trim pockets and the main weight pockets. Good thing I don't need a weight belt because I have no butt and would need to buy one of those as well!
