We had a nice day of diving today at Ft Wettherill and Beavertail. At Ft Wetheril a scientist had a few nice tropicals he just caught.

From what I saw he had a damsel fish, a stripped file fish, spotfin butterfly and a local puffer (not northern) and a pipe fish.

He also had a neat homemade contraption of 2 plastic bottles top to top, one had a vent and net attached.

Looking forward now to getting more shore diving in as we completely missed them.

Beavertail vis was 20+ feet and around the island was 10-15 ft.

Looks like we hit it nice the last ferw days.

It would be nice to get an aquarium with a battery operated bubbler and collect em for a day to let everyone see em, take pictures of em and then release them.

I'll prolly be there on Saturday. Which will make this years dive count a grand total of ...... 2.

Prepare the saltwater bath and residual nitrogen transfusion stat! I don't think he's going to make it! He's suffering from acute case of NCS (non-compression sickness)!!!

Ive had non-compression sickness before and I tell ya its horrible. It was so nice to get compressed again but its left me wanting more.

My arms will only be numb for 6 days after those dives.

Ide like to get out Saturday also as the drive home Sunday was pretty slow going. I guess me and thousands of others decide to take the backroad home after crossing the Groton bridge.

I heard that someone had caught triggerfish recently. I won't be able to make it out to RI until September 8th or so. Think they'll still be around? Sure hope so!!

Take a look at that dive report I posted for the U853/Lightburne dives we did this weekend. We saw several triggers on the Lightburne and I posted pictures of them. So yes they are around. :D

And yes the tropicals usually linger through September. I have even seen some as late as November but I am sure they weren't too happy.
