Trip Reports Wednesday June 16th - Sunday June 20th 2010

Wednesday June 16th 2010 we left the docks with a full boat of Fireman and Anne Arundel County Dive Team divers for two dives on the Kona-Hi'Lola. With a forecast of afternoon thunderstorms we headed out early. Seas were calm and vis was average. Back at the dock around 1pm.

Thursday June 17th 2010 we had a small crew of four divers to zone 2. When we got to the Al Giles Reef we had a 10 min visit from a small Right Whale checking out the boat.Water vis was an amazing 35+\- feet on the surface and about 25 feet on the bottom. The water temps just as nice in the low 70s on the surface and in the low 60s on the bottom. After two dives on the wreck and a couple flounder later we headed back. Perfect day on the water!

Friday June 18th 2010 we had a full Underwater Hunter Course with Atlantic Edge Dive Center. Vis dropped a little but still a great day. Everyone tagged a couple tog and had a great time.

Saturday June 19th 2010 we headed to the African Queen for 2 dives with a full boat in 2ft seas. Was a quick trip out, about 45 mins. Hooked right in and thought for a second we were in the Carolinas. Again we had 35+\- feet of surface vis and 25 feet or more on the sand. Water was a nice blue color and in the 70s on the surface. Tagged a few big tog as always on the Queen.

Sunday June 20th 2010 with five divers we headed through some heavy rollers coming out the inlet as the tide was ripping out. Once out of the firing line seas were calm, 2 to 3 ft ground swell and light winds. We wanted to get back on the Al Giles Reef but ended up back at the Kona-Hi'Lola. Average day, temps were nice but vis dropped to about 15ft.
