Thanks Ken,

It was great diving with you and Mike. The sheephead looks much smaller in the video than it did in real life.

Good to meet you guys, even though it was only on the surface. Next time, we'll all dive together.

Here's our (kathydee, hepcat62, and my) first dive. Green layer until we reached Hole in the Wall. Still a great time, but I was crossing my fingers for more when we were able to see the bottom of the cove from the surface. I'm getting spoiled...

Pt. Lobos - Hole in the Wall area

Thanks for leading us Don - it was great diving with you again. Thanks especially for the skills work on dive #2 - that was a big help, at least as enjoyable as the first dive, and I've got a lot to practice. :)

I think your mystery jelly is Leucothea pulchra

Yeah that looks about right. The video didn,t capture well but it did have some faint light pulses streaming along tracks on it's side, otherwise it didn't really do anything. I got the impression it was at the end of it's life similar to alot ofthe moon jellies I run into alot in the cove.

Anyway, thanks for putting a name to this jelly

Man now that I have to work Friday's and all I miss diving point lobos. I absolutely hate making reservations because I can never know that far out if I am going to be able to dive.

In the end id have to reserve both days on the weekend (when im not on call) and hope it works out... that would get too $$$ in the long run.

Just noticed I put the not-so-good clip in by mistake, here is the better one.

YouTube - CA sheephead

Nice to have a fish turn towards me, have way too many shots of just tails swimming away
