Thank you for this detailed write up. It has really helped us to know what to expect on our upcoming dive trip! Now if we can just figure out how to overcome the luggage/weight issue...

Take less clothing! All you really need is a couple of pairs of shorts and T-shirts along with your seim suits. Little Cayman is very casual and relaxing.

I'm not worried about my check bag so much as I am my carry-on being allowed. 15lbs isn't much when you consider cameras, a laptop, and hope to carry your dive computer and regs on board. They say things like a camera case or small laptop are allowed so I'm hoping they don't have to abide by that 15lb rule.

Becca,
I presume that you are referring to baggage weights allowed on the Twin Otter flights to LC and the Brac. AFAIK, the allowances are still 55lbs and a 15lb carryon. The excess weight charge is only .50 US per lb. So, unless you are one of those tourists who want to get away from it all AND take it all with you, the charge won't be too bad.

Thanks for the report! We leave Saturday for LCBR for a week.

I've read about luggage restrictions on a lot fights to remote destinations but have never had a problem or even charged for the extra weight. Though it is good to be prepared if they enforce their rules, I've stopped stressing over it. BTW, my carry on camera case alone is 32lbs. I'm sure they're used to it.

Thank you for that very detailed and accurate description of LCBR. It's one of the caribbean dive destinations that is in my rotation.

Great report. It sounds like the operation at LCBR is as good as what we experienced at Brac Reef BR a few years ago. The only two problems we experienced were the food and the hurricane that made diving impossible for two or three of the days there. The food was so good, and plentiful, that we gained about 10lbs each!

Thanks again, I know it takes time to compile notes and compose the report.

Fantastic and thorough report, reefduffer! A friend and I are thinking of going to LC this summer, and you have given us some wonderful information to think about!
