Trip Report: Flower Gardens, Stetson Bank, M/V Fling, May 2012

Pros:

1. The diving was good. Saw a lot of cool stuff, similar to what can be found throughout the Caribbean. Vis was 50-70ft, depending on location.
2. The price is right ... the per-dive cost is hard to beat.
3. The crew seems to know what they are doing. Which is good, because things can get ugly in the GofM.
4. The food is quite good. It was hot and always present.

Cons:

1. The boat can get very crowded. For a 2 or 3 day charter, it's bearable, but I'd hate to go longer.
2. The seas can be rough and currents strong. A number of the divers on my charter were sea-sick going out, even with meds.
3. The DM can be ridgid; I believe unnecessarily so.
4. I came back with a lovely case of ringworm.
