I've got a Deep See hood that fits great around the head. However, around the face is another story all together.

From above my eyes to the bottom of my cheeks it gaps and makes it hard to get a good seal with my mask.

Can I trim this section back with a pair of sharp scissors?

Any advice? Comments?

It's commonly done. Use large scissors - they're less likely to make jagged edges as you stop and restart a cut.

Cut small slices off and try again. You can always recut - but it's tough to glue back on.

I have a 7mm hood I had to trim for my face, my advice would be to put the hood on and mark carefully the area to be trimmed with your mask on, you can always cut more but you can never put back what you trimmed off. Look on the seams of the hood there is a cross stitch on the seam do not cut beyond this line otherwise the factory stitch will fray.
