I stumbled on something today, I had a small leak at my valve last dive, I removed the valve to give it a good cleaning and to inspect the balancing mushroom valve. When I looked at it I noticed something different

It looked like this on the inside rather than this

Which is the older type on my older suit, I went to the Si Tech web site and saw the had indeed changed the design and they are offering updated parts.

The exposed mushroom is the part that I had discovered in the past as the source of internal leaks which is why I always cautioned against over pressurizing the valve while rinsing it, it may not be an issue any longer with the update since it appears that disrupting the valve may be impossible now.
