I'm having difficulty getting the tank neck bungee around the valve and secured. Maybe a short loop of line or a caribiner that I could grab to pull the bungee?

I have fixed a loop of paracord on my bungees. It helps to find them, hook them on and off. I know other divers who used thick bungees to create a big knot.

pls clarify.....is the bungee so tight that you have trouble pulling it, and then getting onto the tank valve? or are having trouble finding the bungee with your hand?

Fat fingers, I don't have a problem pulling the bungee out enough, but getting the loop secured is frustrating

I like the paracord loop idea!

If you’re setting up fresh bungees, add a bit of length for a finger-wide extra loop/knot to pull from (kinda like the paracord)

Rotate the tank/valve forcefully with the other hand, pointing it forward so it is easy to hook. (I'm assuming a loop bungee.) There's not much leverage (especially on steel cylinders), so time the bungee hook at max rotation.

If you have to see the valve to hook it, you'll need to place the tank where it is much harder to attach. Practice until you can do it without looking.

Which bungee setup? There are several. I am using a 1980s style bungee around the valve knob, which is pointing down, not to the side, (twists 45 deg out while being used), and it is easy to use (with a thumb) as it is not overly tight.
