I flew down Nags Head Saturday to spot the bouys and the bouy is definitely up on the Triangle Wrecks and I spotted bouys that looked like they were on the Huron and the tug but they looked close to sure. Not certain. I have evidense of the TAW's bouy, see image below.

Woo Hoo!!! When we going!!!

This Saturday Larry and I are heading to the Outer Banks to dive the Triangle Wrecks, Huron, or The Oriental. We are bringing scooters this time in case we try the Oriental. It is a little longer out than the Triangle Wrecks, but since it is a Civil War Wreck it might be worth it. It is a tough swim out if current is bad.

As Larry said, he owns a small plane and flew over the beaches this past week end. It alos looked like the tug Explorer has a bouy on it as well. It is located between the Huron and the Nags Head Fishing pier. There is also a schooner called the Irma suppoesedly south of the Triangle wrecks that was uncovered last year from the shifting sands. That would be neat to find.

Anyway, anyone is welcome to join us. If conditions are right, it is awesome diving that doesn't cost any money. Just gas. PM one of us if you want to meet us done there. We will post our report when we get back.

Mrs Prages, weren't you in the group that met us there last year? Too bad the vis wasn't good, because on a good day it is really clear and a fun dive.

I went yesterday afternoon, The huron bouys are there but the bouy on the triangle bouy is not where it has been in the past. It still looks like they are going to move it out to where it was in the past, the bolt cutters and extra bouys are still out there. Vis was about 5 foot and the triggers and tautog were there.

Mike S,

I'm not sure what is wrong with the link to the photo. I got the same thing you did????? Its just a shot of the bouy from the air.........

Yeah, That was me rolling around in the surf. I am anxious to get back out there and try her again though. I am hoping that you guys will be going a few more times this summer. I can't go this weekend as I am already booked with Olympus, but if you guys plan any more trips and are looking for more people be sure to keep me posted.

Thanks

Paula
