what surprise spots have you found in Travis. i have dove most of the known spots. i did not know about the plant by the dam that i read about on this forum though. i have a boat and like to explore and find new things.

What are your "known" spots? What kind of diving are you looking to do?
You ever dove the "chimney” over between Volente and Starnes Island? It is a short swim trough hole with the entrance on the top edge of a wall and goes down to exit the side of the wall. Right off that in deeper water is what they called "the junkyard", if I remember correctly it was debris from a sunken marina. Kind of cool, have not been there since 93.
I have dove the chimney from the shoreline years ago. The debris field is the result of a tornado that hit the marina back in the 90s, if I remember correctly.

well, i was afraid that question would come up. i like short post so i left that out. i like to dive off the beaten path so to say. a short list and what i like most. wp (trees and air pocket),sometimes island(mill,cliffs,air pocket),dam (believe it or not as a newbie a friend got me lost in a cleaning room on a night dive. scary),starns(the trees past the drop off),hippie hollow(cliffs and anchors stuck in cliff
), marshal ford(lost items from drunk kids diving off cliffs),my secret anchor grave yard. many misc. spots. i was certified and the chimney spot. i have not dove the rock wall/barn or the dam plant i read about. i have heard that their is a large boat around Carlos and Charlie's. these are the spots i have yet to find. if you have found a spot that you don't think many people know about and found interesting, that is what i am looking for. here are some of the anchor i have collected over the years.Attachments
