Hey, I'm coming to Anaheim this coming week,
Hi T-N-T,

If you go to the link in my signature there is a page for dive shops in Orange County. It's an easy place to get them all in one place.

You might want to tell us whether you plan to do a beach dive or a boat dive. It'll help us to help you. Some local boats do Friday trips to Catalina, and one you might want to consider is the Island Time (If they run that day) since they do 2-tank dives that get you back to the dock in early afternoon so you're not violating your dive/fly time.

Let us know if we can help you further!

I don't know which I want to do, Shore or boat. If I have California veteran with me a shore dive might be interesting. I am staying at the disneyland hotel. I won't have transportation, so if I get to dive I will definately need a buddy who I can give some gas money to, to get me around that day, any takers? What is the water temps and vis this time of year.

looks like you picked a bad week for shorediving due to the swells and red tide......look into a charter to catalina from long beach...that would be your best bet

Whose the best shop to go to Catalina with? Thanks for the help. Maybee I'll get to meet a couple of SB SoCal divers while I'm out there. Thanks again.

I don't know any local boats that will go out on TH or FR right now. I just checked the Island Time which would have been the best bet for you and they stopped their Friday dives last month.

You could check San Diego boats to go to Wreck Alley but you'll probably need to rent a car. It's ~2 hours from Anaheim and great diving! Try the Lois Ann. They may have TH or FR dives trips still.

The Psalty V is also a possibility.

Good luck!

Depending on conditions,we can dive Laguna Beach (closed this past weekend with big surf) or Palos Verdes (1 foot waves), that is if you are in condition to shore dive. Long Walks in full gear down hill, or stairs are the norm here (1-3 city blocks some places less) depending on the dive site. Water temps mid 50's to maybe low 60s.

If you have not found a dive by Wednesday call me (562) 421-3094 and we will get wet. I will be in SD a day or two this week and will be diving there and then back here in Los Angeles area by Thursday evening for diving.

Heck, call me anyway and lets talk.

People seem to be suggesting Orange County. Yes Disneyland is technically in OC but look at a map and check out the 91 freeway. It is a straight shot to Redondo Beach. In terms of commute time you are close to the RB and PV areas where conditions are good. The temps people are quoting you are surface temps. Low 50's at depth lately. Also the red tide disapears below 40 or 50 feet where the water is tocold to support it.

How can anyone come to Los Angeles without transportation? If only for a few days rent a car Public transportation here sucks big time

If you have not worked something out in the next ew ays send PM.

I may be up for a dive in LA on Thursday if conditions get blown out on the south facing beaches down this way. I could pick you up at 8:00 or so and we can sit in traffic for a few hours. If things look good here we can do a local dive.
If we dive in LA, I may need some advice from my more northern located Scubaboarders as to where to go as I have only been to Malaga.
