I have a big pelican case that will fit in the overhead for expensive stuff but for shorter trips, I just carry it in my hand, no case. Its a good way to turn people on to SCUBA. Everyone wants to know what it is. and I can show them pics.

I would check most things if I could get away with the weight limit.

I have a Pelican 1520 case and that hold my housing and my dome port with other stuff. That goes in the top of a check bag. I check everything but my camera equipment, cords, chargers, and laptop. I generally put heavy items in my carryon, and it often exceeds 40lbs. I actually have two carryons, a LowePro Nature Trecker BP, and a standard roller.

packing all this stuff is a pain in the tail. Next time i may leave some lenses behind.

I have a pelican case for all my equipment and it gets carried on the the plane with me.
