What are some good sites to look at for upcoming group dive trips for Texans (especially flying out of Houston.) Are there dive shops that have good deals on trips, I don't seem to find much in the forums. ~

Most of the dive shops in Houston have web sites that list their trips. Also Houston Underwater Club(www.hucscuba.org) has a number of trips next year. You must join the club but dues are only $25/yr. Bay area divers also has some trips. Houston Hammerheads is having a trip in August.

In the long run putting your own trips together can be the most economical...not necessisarily the most fun. Dive clubs offer good trips because the monney saved by the group rate is rolled back to the individual members of the group. LDS's are in the business of making money....however the trips they put together are usually top notch and the groups most enjoyable. Some individuals put together group trips with various operators. Some take a percentage from the operator plus free trips.....some roll back the benefits (or part of them) to the dive group participants.

My wife and I make trips under all of the above cirumstances.....depending on our personal desires, group composition and type of trip being offered. We also belong to one of the oldest and most active clubs in the Houston area, The Lunarfins.

Day in and day out, trips to Coz will probably be the most bang for you buck. Easy in, easy out...fantastic diving.
