there have been some screaming deals lately if you do some searching, and are in the right place at the right time......

OP's got a budget of >$300. That Mach 5 18# wing is $400 list by itself. 18# MACH V Chroma Series *Mariner Blue* : OxyCheq - DiveOps, Analyzers and Scuba Diving Equipment

No personal experience with them but what about an Aqualung Zuma? $299 on LeisurePro recently. They even come with weight pockets included. (or optional?)

Although I'm personally leaning towards an Express Tech myself with the Zip Touch weight system. Won't be under $300 though.

The Zeagle Scout or Express Tech are both better quality than the Zuma. I'm pretty much in between the Scout and the Express Tech now. The Scout has everything I'm looking for. The Express Tech is a leaner back inflate BC but the Scout is lean enough for us.

I also saw the price of just the Mach 5 wing. Definitely out of my range.

Deciding on gear can drive a person crazy. I could literally be at this forever, looking at countless BC's and their pros and cons. The BP/W pushers :D will add even more to the fray. I came up with a select scope, decide from there, then execute, otherwise I never will.

I did not know this BC was still available, I thought they were only offering the deluxe model.

Now that you mention that, the last review on Amazon concerning that BC from just a month ago stated that they received a Deluxe model expecting the basic and for the same price of $279.

I have both the Express Tech and the Scout. I prefer the Scout.

I will throw this one out. I know it is above the budget but if you are looking at Zeagle......... The Covert seems to be what you are looking for. I have not used one but I have seen one and would think it would be worth checking into.

That is a fine BC, even more suited to my needs. I really like it but it's too much.:depressed:

I keep an eye out for it in case it goes on sale.

My wife and I have been using scouts for down south diving all the time. Big fan of them, nice and light, and we have weight pouches that attach to the cam bands....works great.

The only BC you will see me in with tanks on my back haha

I use the Scout for about all my single tank diving and love it. Unless they have changed it, there are weight pockets on the tank bands that are ditch able. Great all around BC.
