Hi archman,

I hope the attached pic able to give a clearer picture of what I described in my previous post. Let me know should you need further clarification.

For all TPII owner who are facing the same problem as I did. You can just get someone who has a sewing machine to make the customization. It should not take more than 40mins to get it done. Happy sewing... :)

This problem has been discused here on SB for a long time and many, many threads with the same fixes.

In my opinion, this is by far the best fix for this problem that I've ever read, it makes you think "Why I didn't thought of that before"

Thanks, mine will be done this week, so I can try it out ASAP, maybe it'll come out of the closet more often and give some well deserved rest to my BP.

I purchased a AL backplate and STA's from Hammerhead scuba. Very good pricing. I tested it with 16 dives in the Keys last week and it seems the BP has solved this problem. The tank still sits as high, but because of the STA it is far enough away that my head does not bang it. Bottom line - I can look forward without banging my head

It seems with 2 tank strap BCs that the tank simply rides higher. In the case of the TPII, it seems that if DR simply sewed the top strap 2" lower, this problem would not exist. Generally - in looking at BC's with two straps, I can see how I might have this problem with any 2 strap BC with my Apex ATX 200 reg.

Other positives that are worth note - dropping 4 pounds off the weight belt and moving to my back immediately improved my horizontal position in the water which helped improve my buoyancy control. Also, packing is actually easier and takes less space.

I will be selling the Transpac and Travel Wings shortly.
