If you have a search plan and are not intimidated by black water, we didn't think it would be that diificult. One of our divers was asked to do a test before it opened and they brought the 'Victim' up in less than a minute. Not all the events are the same though. Besides the divers there were 5 lifeguards who hopped in and out fairly frequently to provide flotation.

It is amazing how many who can't or can barely swim will take the challenge!!

Why not just a snorkel? Limited to breath holding under stress. The only time we 'almost' went after someone was when the lifeguard went in for a swimmer and came up empty. Just before we hit the water the lifeguard had pulled him up. He happened to be the best guard of the group and barely took a breath before diving down and grabbing a wrist.

That and insurance companies.
