I was OK with him reaching toward me until he came with 4 legs out from under the tire. I thought he was going to latch onto my face like in the Alien movies :D.

Nice Octo. I have yet to see a large one. I have seen real small ones only about 1"-1.5" long. Cute little things.

Nice Octopus. Those eyes are very cool. They're really clever creatures. They kept losing crabs (I think it was crabs) from a tank at the Aquarium here. It was closed and latched. Finally they put up a surveillance camera. An Octopus opened his tank next door, crawled across dry ground, opened the other tank, had his dinner, then came back, latching the doors behind him. That's the story I heard, anyway.

It may be North Florida but it's still plenty south of here. And you know what to do if he does latch onto your face? Keep shooting. Or better yet, give the camera to your buddy. It'll make a great shot. :D
