Bump, Back from the dead, i curious to known this my self and read all the replies.

Personally i met people with way more diving timw than me I and found them to be a danger to them selves.

I believe certs are handed out way too easy.
Like a drivers license almost anyone can get them with little effort. Some people can drive their entire lives eveyday and still be terrible drives.

Good judgment and talking to someone is the best way to understand stand their minds set to forcast the type of diver.

I now have a about 105 hrs logged, and probably another 20 not logged due to shallow or short dives(above 20ft less than 20min).

Most of my dives are in lake Erie with some ocean dives on while on vacation. I am used to colder and lower visibility diving(all perspective great day in the lake is ass at Bora Bora). I grew up and live on the water. I love the it. give me a few feet of viz and ill have fun. Its all a mind set i just wish i started younger...

I got certified mid 2023. 20ys in the future from this poll... I had a full summer of diving in 2024.
I achieved master diver with SSI later that same summer.

Over time I stacked new skills to not over task my self. At this point I am handling a DPV, managing a dive bouy while using a metal detecting looking for that next discovery.

Now in 2025 I have my 1st dry suit tested and ready waiting to start the season early. This early sping i will go for my independent diver cert.

To date-- 1,031 dives, 516 hrs. 16 minutes. Almost exactly 30 mins. per dive.
