hello,
I've have been looking at dive torches for quite some time now with hundreds of suggestions :) but no I have narrowed it down to two torches. But I cant decide what one to go with  I'm going to do my wreck diving and deep diving course so I wanted something that had a good burn time and I had seen my DM's and DI's use umbilical torches. The to contestants are:
Halcyon Proteus 3 10 watt HID and the Dive Rite 10-Watt HID Light

Has anyone used these torches or seen them in action and could anyone advise me on which would be better? thank you!

My husband and I have a 10W HID from Salvo (adjustable focus). I have a soft handle for my smaller hand and my husband has a normal goodman handle. We live near cave country and were able to go into their headquarters and view all product. Very nice!

Salvo Diving Equipment - Dive Lights

Sorry I can't give a review on the two above.

thank you for the link! thats a great website because of the pictures of the beams are great to actually see what I'm expecting from the torch

You might want to have a look at these lights :)
GreenForce - Divelights

They are available worldwide. I have one battery and two heads. Lets just say these are robust. In the UK the distributor, a certain Mr Roy Lumb, will hammer nails into wood using these lights. Tougher than nails and rather bright lights

The fixed focus Salvo 10W canister light is a lovely little light -- It's darned near as bright as my 21W, because of the tight focus, and it's quite small, and attractively priced. And Salvo's customer service absolutely ROCKS.

I second that. Salvo and DiveRite are probably the better choices.

looks like diverite wins then :D does anyone know if diverite will be at the LIDS march cause I've heard that you get some great deals there.
