Top Dive Spots?

Come to Egypt! Tourism has taken a big hit recently and many people's livelyhoods depends on it. They need your help and at the moment it's probably cheaper than most countries. Doesn't hurt that the Red Sea is the best diving to be had anywhere

The Blue Hole in Dahab is probably one of the most popular dive sites worldwide (Dahab as a whole is amazing). Southern Egypt (Daedelus, Eliphinstone, Fury Shoals) is great for seeing large fish and Sharm El Sheikh/Ras Mohammed for wreck diving. The SS Thistlegorm is one of the best worldwide.

The Blue Hole in Dahab is quite the nice dive. We did the Arch, but it's not a recreational dive. I recall sitting at over 200 feet looking up, and I could see sunlight ripples on the surface. Then, looking down, it just disappears into black several hundred feet below. An amazing sight and experience. But my favorite Dahab dive site was the Canyon.

The Canyon is actually my favourite as well! That's mostly because I've been lucky with sightings there though haha

I've not done the arch yet but the Bells - Blue Hole drift dive outside the blue hole is great as well and can easily be done within recreational limits.

You're right, no place like home. The reefs of Boynton Beach can compete on number, size, and diversity of reef fish with the best to the Caribbean.

Although Florida and the Caribbean do no hold up to diving I've done in more exotic locations, the Goliath Grouper dive in Boynton is one of my all time favorite individual dives.

The Castor in Sept is, indeed, a fantastic dive. I have two weeks reserved for this year.

@MountainAdventure When you were in Bali, did you head out to dive anywhere else in Indonesia? If not, I highly recommend Komodo National Park on a liveaboard. It has been my favorite so far so I'm going back to see Raja Ampat - I hear it's even better.

Philippines are also supposed to be really good, and the usual suspects of Cocos Island, Galapagos.

(The so fars have been: California, Hawaii, Mexico (Cenotes in PDC area and cozumel drift), New Zealand (Poor Knights), Costa Rica (Bat and Cat Islands), Bahamas, French Polynesia, Thailand)

Browning Pass would be my number one site. As Bob said there is so much life that you can't see the walls for it.

Palos Verdes, California is second because it's home and there is more to see here than most sites in Southern California, when you can see it.

I'll be diving Big Sur for the first time in June. I'm hoping it will become a favorite.

I haven't found a warm water site that I really enjoyed yet.

I've dived PV Point in 80 ft vis and it was easily a couple of the best dives I've ever done in SoCal - rivaled backside Santa Cruz when it's on and there's nothing like backside SC if you get really lucky

My favorite Channel Islands diving's up in San Miguel ... Farnsworth Bank's probably second. But I've never done any of the oil rigs, and I hear that's pretty spectacular.
