What are your top 5 dive spots in the world?

Looking for next adventure. Been to Hawaii, Bali, Maldives and off the coast of Australia. Willing to travel pretty much anymore for the adventure.

Thanks

Im partial to the Caribbean being so close to it. In the interest of full disclosure though the wife and I are "vacation" divers - warm water in pretty places. The diving isnt particularly challenging or difficult, but there are lots of reef, wrecks, cracks and crevices to explore, etc.

Depending on your definition of adventure and certification level though it may not being as exciting as you are looking for.

Maldives-a good choice.

I assume you may mean spots we've been to.

My top would be the Red Sea ... particularly the southern (Egypt) route which would include Brothers, Daedalus, Fury Shoal, and Elphinstone. But if you're into wrecks, the northern route around the south tip of the Sinai Peninsula is pretty awesome too.

Next after that would be Raja Ampat ... when I went I did it from an excellent dive resort called Raja4Divers. But it's probably better done from a liveaboard.

Next after that would be Philippines ... I went with the ScubaBoard folks last year to Puerto Galera and Dumaguete. If you have to choose one, I'd recommend the latter, as you'll be able to go spend your final day snorkeling with whale sharks in Cebu (which was amazing). But you can't go wrong with either location, and Atlantis Resorts sets a gold standard for the customer experience.

Next after that would be Komodo ... which I did (and recommend doing) from a liveaboard. Amazing reefs and varied conditions and marine life.

Rounding out my top five would be Browning Pass, in northern Vancouver Island ... the very best cold water diving I've ever experienced. Those reefs aren't just covered in life ... there's life growing on the life ...

... Bob (Grateful Diver)

My two favorite trips were Red Sea (Brothers-Daedalus-Elphinestone) and Cocos Island

My top spot would be my next dive....

So a LOB in T&C is my answer (the explorer).

I do not believe in bucket list or top 10 stuff. Perfect example is the Blue Hole in Belize. I think it sucks. You can have a crappy dive on a great site (viz, weather, ...) or an awesome dive on a crappy site (shake hands with an octopus!).

As vacation divers we have made of list of things we want and use them to guide where we go. Very seldom do we get as specific as a single dive site.
