The definitive guide. Iam looking for everyone to pitch in and basically give their opinion on what are the best places to dive in florida.

Depends on what you're looking for.

For reefs, I like those found in Key Largo. Lots of life, lots of color and light due to the shallow depth.

For wrecks, you can't do better than off the coast of Broward County for the number and variety.

In no particular order, my top 10 favorite areas in Florida:

Islamorada/Tavernier
Boca Raton
Off shore Ft. Myers
Ft Lauderdale
Panama City
Palm Beach
Tortugas
Venice
Marathon
Off shore Clearwater

.. any non-advanced cave dives? I'll be fort lauderdale... :)

About the closest thing to a cave we have here is a wreck penetration. Maybe the engine room of the United Caribbean ? Here's a link with the wrecks from southern palm beach county to southern broward.

My favorite reefs are mentioned in "Diving Locations: Boynton to Dania" by Ray McAllister.

BTW - dixiedivers is about 20 minutes north of FLL via I95. Its in a very convienent location (and they are nice people).
