I (very) recently became a DM. Before that, I think the shop was charging like $35 for parts on each stg for APEKS + service (if not covered under parts warranty). A HOG kit on DRIS runs like $12/$20 so it's yet cheaper. Beyond that, BubbleTrouble summed it up pretty nicely.
@Frisco: congrats on your purchase and the deal. These are nice regs and I use them on all my dives. For doubles I use the HOG D1 Cold Water, for singles I siwtched to the HOG D2 limited (since it very closely matched my APEKS DS4 or SP MK17. Not dissappointed (yet)!
