Hi,

I just found out that I have to have a tonsilectomy?? on Thursday of this week. We are scheduled to go to Key Largo on January 13th for 3 days of diving. Is this far enough away that I should not have to worry about canceling our trip? Does anyyone have any ideas on this or how bad a tonsilectomy is for someone in their 30's?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

If it were me, I wouldn't worry about it. I think in three weeks' time, you'll be well enough healed to dive. You might consider bringing a lozenge though... the dry air could be a little uncomfortable until you're all better.

YMMV... I'm not a doctor.

I was of the same opinion. I just wondered if anyone out there had any experience to go on. I really appreciate the advice though. The lozenge thing is a good idea. I hadn't even that about the dry mouth I always have after sucking tank air.
