The annual Toms River Dive Gear Flea market is scheduled for Sunday, February 23rd, 2003.
As always it will be held in Toms River, NJ at the Toms River High School East Cafetorium between the hours of 10:00a.m. and 3:00p.m. There is an entry fee of something like $3-5, not sure exactly and didin't see it on the site.
If you have never been you owe it to yourself to go and see this at least once! People and dive gear packed wall to wall. Every year someone comes back with a story of an incredible deal they made (or wished they had). Last year it was the guy who found a Haskel gas booster for $100! For those of you that don't know what a Haskel is, it is a gas booster used in mixing nitrox and trimix which normally run $4500 - 8,000 new and 2,500-3,500 used. I saw a like new Max Air sell for $1,000 (normally $3,000).
Plus if you like seeing old dive gear and wondering why anyone in their right mind would dive with such stuff, you'll have a good time.
Directions are as follows.
Toms River East High School on Raider Way Road, Toms River, New Jersey. Take the Garden State Parkway to exit 82. Go east 5.3 miles on route 37 to the seventh traffic light. Take the jug-handle to get onto Coolidge Ave. going north and go 1.1 miles. Raider's Way will be on your left. Travel 400 yards down Raider Way and the High School will be on your left.
