Hi, we are planning to do a live aboard in Tobago and then go to Bonaire for a second week. I can't seem to figure a way to get from one to the other. Has anyone done this or knows if we have to go from Tobago to Venezuela then on to Bonaire?
Thanks

Definitely through Caracas. Try Valencia Air to Curacao then Divi to Bonaire or Transaven from Curacas directly to Bonaire. They fly in daily to Bonaire from Caracas.

Let us know if we can be of any help on this end!

I love Bonaire- so don't misunderstand....

Stay for another week in paradise. After you have dragged yourself through all the travel and connections- consider spending a relaxing dive week in Speyside on Tobago.

The liveaboard experience isn't necessarily the Tobago experience. Certainly not in terms of the "island" experience", and it offers a different view of the diving.

Do two!

easiest way is tobago to Trinidad either ferry or flight and then American Airlines goes from Trinidad to Bonaire. At least thats how I remember it, but you'd be sure to find something to the ABC's from Trinidad.

but i agree with roatan stay in Tobago for a while and go have some curry crab and dumplins for me at store bay.

Boy I miss home

On another note, Doc when next are you planning to go to Tobago?

AA doesn't go Trinidad to Bonaire (unless you go back through San Juan.). Maybe they used to, but routes come and go.

Dunno- got Red Sea in July, then Phillipines for September.

I've been Tobago enough to fall in love with her, for me that happened the first time I was there many, many years ago. Then I took "Herself" there in 2001. She too fell for Tobago!

Blessedly simple and quiet North end of Charlottesville/Speyside, wonderful new friends, some real Rastafarians, diving absolutely unique for the Caribbean. Incredible views and mountain roads, waterfalls and fabulous beach vistas.

No plans right now to return, but we will.

Recall the great diving with Redman and his son. 10 and 12 foot Mantas swarming at night, doing Stealth Bomber loops in my upturned dive light, roller coaster currents thru Washing Machine, Heart Attack, African Express and others....

Hot Roti for lunch!

Dreams of sitting, watching the last rays of the Sun strike Ian Flemmings house, you must know that this would be his- perched like a Falcon atop a rock in the bay- a caretaker going from window to window lighting oil lamps.

I'm ready to go back. And as ready as "Herself" is to go back- she hasn't been to Bonaire yet... so maybe we will have to go there first. But- I will say again- a week on a liveaboard in Tobago is not week on Tobago. Stay for two.
