My my wife and I want to get a late deal to Tobago in November !

Does anyone know what the diving is like then ?

Can anyone comment on Turtle Beach or Tropikist Hotels ?

What is the nightlife like ?

It is the middle of the Huricane Season.

Scarborough (Turtle) can be rough surf at the best of times.

Don't know the properties. Tropikist is "5 minutes" from Crown point (Tropikist), which means that you better have a car. You should have a car at any place in Tobago to get the full effect out of your week.

Nightlife? You're going to have to look for it. It will not be Jamaica nor Nassau. Pretty local and low key comparatively. The real partying on Tobago occurs at the Southern end, near the cruise ship landings of Crown point.

From http://www.mytobago.info/reviews/review33d.php find this comment: A franchised SCUBA dive service, Scuba Adventure Safari (SAS), is based at the hotel and operates from the Watersports Department. Readers considering diving are strongly advised to read our Dive article. Based on 18-months of research and the opinions and guidance of international and local dive experts, I can only say that I personally would walk burning coals rather than dive with them.

The best of the diving in Tobago is on the North End near Charlottesville and most notably Speyside. No nightlife other than quiet places to drink a Carib Beer... that and the night dive. The diving is not for the inexperienced on that end. On the South end, where your your resorts may access should be a lot simpler diving.

Most curiously- neither resort offered up its own website after a fairly good Google search. Hmmm.

I did find http://www.caribbeanmag.com/search/hotels/Trinidad_and_Tobago/tropikist/reviews/23/5/

November isn't the middle of the hurricane season. It officially ends 11/30, but things generally tail off well before then.

The water should be clearing from the rainy season by then. We consistently have good diving at Christmas through May. After that, the Orinoco starts dumping silt. And Tobago hasn't been hit by a hurricane since the 1960's. Try the Manta Lodge for accomodations in Speyside and walk across the street to the dive boat.

We stayed at Manta lodge in April this year and had a great time. TDE handled the diving which was really excellent. The diving was all drift diving which is good as the currents can be strong. We did see one Manta as well as lots of sharks and turtles.
