To snork or not to snork, that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the water to drag
The slings and tubes of outrageous rules,
Or to forsake Snorkels against a Sea of troubles.

:acclaim:

Sorry. Another thread made me do it.

For my part it's been abandoned, lost and I don't care

... and by opposing, end them. To dive, to swim,
Some more; and by a swim to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
The breath is Air2: 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be fish. To dive, to swim;
To swim; perchance to dream - ay, there's the rub:
For in that swimming depth what dreams may come,
When we have backrolled off this floating coil,
Must give us pause - there's the respect
That makes calamity of so dry a life.

Dude, do a search, this song has been sung before. And from my lofty perch, Id say its not yet time for more

It’s a pretty simple answer. Boat dive: no snorkel. Shore dive: yes snorkel.

It’s pretty handy as you swim out from shore; you can keep your head down, stay comfortable, enjoy the shallow bottom where there’s often things to see, and save your air. If you have one at all, the modern type with the valves and baffles pays for it’s extra bulk. I think of them as disposable and get cheapos from Walmart, they work fine. Zero utility on a boat in deeper water.
