I hate to hijack this wonderful thread with a serious comment but:

I agree that some of the disagreements we have on SB are due to a less than careful reading of other's posts before responding. However these cases are easily cleared up and usually result in an apology and the outcome is amicable.

There are many more disagreements that find their genesis in the bias of the poster. When a post is misquoted or something is taken out of context and the poster is informed of this only to continue arguing then we know that there was an agenda driving the *misunderstanding*.

Speed reading can be a problem as can speed typing and when we are involved in volatile, dynamic and animated discussions we need to excise all the greater attention not only to careful reading other's posts but our own as well.

You can get spell check at www.iespell.com, its really easy to use. :)

I've noticed the speed reading and answers bit to. Its like people are trying to post before someone else does. There are times when I'll post a reply and 3 or 4 people will have posted in the mean time.

OK, you've convinced me, bp/wing bit it is. but I'm not going doen the DIR road in its entirety. Only in what makes sense for my diving needs :D

I'm not a great speller and I'm to lazy to use spell check.
But worse that my spelling is the members that speed read and misunderstand the point of the post, I've noticed alot of this lately.
Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me.
I think if they took the time to read all the words in the post, alot of arguments could be avoided.
Might get boring though. Who knows. Just an observation. ;)
Fred
So was the point of the post that you dont use spell checker?
