Hello and greetings! Allow me to introduce myself. I am the President of Sewanee's first Scuba Club! I'm an OWSI from Key Largo, FL- at school at the beautiful University of the South in Tennessee- The club's a new creation- we're currently building a website- opening at some time in the future and trying to get our members some bottom time. Just came across the website and thought, heck this looks good. Just a quick question- is there anyone in the area (within a couple hours drive) who dives regularly?

Welcome to the board. I am sure you will find some here that meets your requirements. I'm just a bit further then a couple of hours away!
Hope your club does great!
Joe

And welcome to SB. :wavey: Put us in your Favorites and check in often.

Welcome - I'm not exactly sure where but I would check out with the Oceanography Forum. Sounds like a good place for that topic.

I don't dive regularly... yet. I am just getting my open water certification. I am scheduled to go down to Ginnie Springs in Florida for some of my first dives. There are a lot of divers from this area using the Philadelphia Quarry not too far from Knoxville. You could probably meet some locals there. There are a couple dive shops on Kingston Pike that could refer you to some locals. There is also the Barricoda Club. Hope this gives you a few leads to go on.

Wow....a guy I used to work with was from Sewanee (aka The University of the South). Small world, huh?

Welcome to the board! :D

Scubaboard has an NDI club location for the South... You can access it from the main page. The chapter is called "Deep South Diving."

We have a supporting NDI club website, too... http://www.DeepSouthDivers.org

Welcome to the club! :D

If you'd like to post your information to the club website (you'll find that many of us have - we're at http://www.DeepSouthDivers.org , go to "Talk" and then "Contact Us") then simply email me your pertinent information... Name (last name optional), scubaboard handle, city and state, and preferrably a photo of yourself that's scuba-related. That'll help others in your area find you.

I have a friend that goes to Sewanee... Becca Daubert. She's a friend of my sister's, actually. :D

BTW, RavenC and I led the University of South Carolina scuba club for a while... So you're in good company!
