The Titan LX is not enviro sealed. I had mine sealed for an additional 75. If I would have bought the Tital LX supreme (includes enviro sealed) new it would have only been 20. more. I can blame my LDS for that one.

But are you happy with it? Would you buy it again?

Your are correct! I guess I am trying figure if the Titan is the way. So I was trying to look at prices not quality. But still is the LX a better build and quality than the delta? Regaurdless of what rank the company puts them in

Call Phil Ellis at Dive Sports.... he's sold and used both of them... Discount Scuba Gear at DiveSports.com - Buy Scuba Diving Equipment & Snorkeling Equipment or PM him on here.

He can give you an honest opinion on both of them...

Personally between the two of those choices, I'd choose the Delta IV. But there is nothing wrong with the Titan LX besides the Aqualung logo/name on it.

I also hear the DVT tech is the only way to go now.

Aqualung has the same thing on their high end regs but calls it ACD (Auto Clusure Device, or something like that...)

regardless, as long as you replace your dustcap properly, you shouldn't need either.

The Oceanic regulators seem to be excellent regulators, but I don’t have direct experience with them.

Personally, I like the mechanism in the Titan first stage as it has been around basically unchanged since 1965. It was first introduced in the Royal Aqua Master double hose regulator (see my avatar) and later in the Conshelf (which is still available). The Titan is just an improved packaging of the Conshelf, but is internally the same and its performance is outstanding.

Parts for the Titan are readily available anywhere and will be available as long as AL keeps on making new regulators with the same internal parts…essentially as long as AL is in business.

The Conshelf/ Titan first stage can easily work without servicing it for extended periods of time. I have bought some Conshelf that were loaded with corrosion (inside and out) and they worked just fine before I rebuild them.

The second stage o the Titan seems like a well design modern balanced second stage.

I am happy with it and have had no problems. There is nothing bad that I can say about the reg and I have contacted Aqualung several times and found their customer service outstanding. If I had to do it all over again, I would buy the Aqualung Legend LX Supreme with ACD but for the cost you can't ask for much more. I am a firm believer in the ACD though because sometimes sh$% just happens.

But are you happy with it? Would you buy it again?

I appreciate the input from everyone, Its just so hard to buy something and hopefully its the right choice

In the long run, either is a good solid regulator. You won't be unhappy with either....

but most folks that have the Titan LX and get to use a higher end reg (such as the Legend LX) wish they had gone ahead and bought the higher-end reg....

so... just go ahead and get that out of the way up front and choose the one you think is higher end of the Titan LX and the Delta IV.... (I think you can figure that out from the other replies.. :D).

This way you won't have spent $350 on a reg, then have to spend more on the better reg later, costing you more in the long run.

I went Saturday and talked to the LDS that sells AL gear and I felt he was treating me like I was dumb, I asked a few questions and I felt like I was bothering him. I guess if I had bought something from him beofre, then he would of spent more time with me. I dont know, but the other LDS that sells oceanic and other companies gear, seem to be more responsive and not any pressure at all. I dont want this to be a deciding factor, I just want good products regaurdless of the company.

Another thing that may help is top see if the LDS will hook the regs you are looking at up to a tank. This helped make my decision. I was looking at the Titan, The Titan LX and the Legand. The Titan LX breathed much easier then the Titan and there was not much difference between the Titan LX and the Legend; however, there was a huge difference between the Titan LX and the Legand LX. Too bad the Legand LX was out of my price range at the time.

Is there any chance you could rent one of each for a weekend?
