Some basic things not mentioned that are pretty good ideas as well...
1) Don't pick up the doubles by the valve knobs either (just as don't pick up by manifold as mentioned before). When you do, they can damage the o-rings/teflon rings, become loose and leak.
2) When moving the doubles, it is easier to attach the backplate and carry it around that way.
3) When laying the doubles down without the backplate attached, if you are going to stack anything on top, lay the bolt side down so that they are protected from being accidentally bent.
