I am in the process of getting my OW certification. Is there a time of the year where local shops have sales to make room for the new years merchandise that will be hitting the floor?
Time to buy?

Black Friday. And end of January after DEMA when they can actually begin to order in some of the new stuff and hope to have it in time for spring. Don't expect too steep of discounts though. Some will not run really good sales until June/ July when they are sure the new stuff will actually sell. And some mfg's dictate when those sales can occurr and how much it cam.be discounted.

Check around. In my area one shop has an annual 1st weekend in December sale. They bring in gear from a larger wholesaler and have a parking lot tent event. The other shop I regularly go to does their sale the 1st Sunday in May. It's a good sale, people line up out front before they open. Signing up for their e-mail lists ensures you get notiified.
